The HIGH Program Sarnaik Challenge
This project aims to raise $25,000 on behalf of the Sarnaik Challenge for the Wayne State HIGH Program. The Sarnaik Challenge was started by Dr. Sharada Sarnaik and Dr. Ashok P. Sarnaik after they set up the Sarnaik Endowment Fund in 2018. The endowment fund's donations are met dollar for dollar by the Sarnaiks, and all donations directly benefit the HIGH Program. The HIGH Program seeks to assist students who are homeless or precariously housed so that they don't have to abandon their degree. From 2013 to 2018, the HIGH Program has helped 148 Wayne State students with various forms of assistance, and seeks to help many more in the future through the generous donations of the Sarnaiks and many other compassionate individuals. .
The Sarnaik Endowment was set up to raise a total of $200,000 for the HIGH Program. For every dollar raised by donations to the HIGH Program, the Sarnaik’s will match those donations up to $100,000. The Sarnaik’s most recent generous donation to the HIGH Program was $23,000, so now it’s up to the HIGH Program, our loyal donors and friends, and the Wayne State University community to give back to students in need on our campus.
